Why Study French?
At French A Level you will learn about aspects of French culture and contemporary society. You will study highlights of French-speaking artistic culture, including francophone music and cinema, and learn about politics in the French-speaking world.
How does current French cinema and music reflect the issues faced in contemporary French society? Have you ever considered how enjoying an authentic French film such as La Haine can provide an interesting way to learn about French, widen your vocabulary and develop a range of analytical and critical skills.

Where can French take me next?
There are multiple opportunities to study and work abroad with your language skills. You can study French at degree level or a combined degree for example with History, Engineering or Business.
Graduate programmes offer training in both the UK and abroad including MI5, Hilton Group and L’Oréal. And of course it opens up careers in teaching, tourism, translation, interpretation and intelligence work.
