Our vision is to create a warm, inclusive and aspirational community where every scholar is valued, guided and inspired to learn, thrive and succeed. We are unapologetically ambitious for all, regardless of background, and are determined to leave no one behind. Through an enriching curriculum, high expectations and unwavering support, we nurture a love of learning, while building confidence, resilience and empathy, empowering scholars to embrace challenge with determination and pride. We provide the cultural capital, deep knowledge and rich experiences that broaden horizons, and empower them to dream big. Our aim is for every scholar to leave us as a well-rounded young person who is kind, confident and committed to excellence poised to contribute positively to their local community and wider society and make a meaningful difference in the world.

House Systems
In order to create a sense of teamwork, belonging and to inspire students, we have a house system that all students and staff feel proud to be part of. Each house represents one of the core values of Longsands Academy:
Austen – Cultural understanding and creativity.
Darwin – Dedication, perseverance and hard work
Hawking – Achievement
Seacole – Respect and development of moral awareness
Turing – Skills and appreciation of diversity
House points are awarded to scholars who display positive behaviours, all of which will contribute to the House Cup being awarded to the winning House at the end of the academic year.
