Students with identified Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
At Longsands 6th Form we are committed to the inclusion of students with SEND in all aspects of Sixth Form life.
The SENDCo and dedicated Sixth Form Lead TA will directly contact each student who identify SEND needs on their application and offer an initial meeting to discuss their needs and individual support.
The SENDCo will also meet with Sixth Form Pastoral Staff to discuss the identified needs and support.
During the Sixth Form transition day, the Sixth Form Lead TA will meet with all the students with identified SEND and ensure they have all the information they need before starting in September.
Some students will be offered additional visits or a transition booklet if deemed helpful. The Sixth Form Lead TA will be able to offer academic, emotional and organisational support as required to meet the needs of each individual student.
Throughout the academic year, the SENDCo, Assistant SENDCo and Sixth Form Lead TA will be in regular contact with all students with identified SEND.
