Over the past few years all schools have faced an unprecedented level of change with the introduction of the “new linear GCSE’s”.
These new courses are different from the old GCSE’s in several key ways. Aswell as a number grading system, the courses have a greater emphasis on terminal examinations in year 11. This means that the shorter module examinations in year 10 and 11 have been replaced by a longer terminal exam in the summer of year 11 and in many subjects the coursework element has been reduced or eliminated.
Please read the attached parent guide to help you understand the changes.
If you have any further questions regarding the new linear GCSE examinations please contact Mr Owen using the email address on the members page.
